Kids prefer screens to playing out

HOOKED Lure of online play THE lure of phones, tablets and TV is keeping kids off their feet and on the couch, almost half of parents say.

A record 46% of mums and dads say that prising children away from screens is a constant battle.

But half of those asked by fitness charity Fusion Lifestyle admitted they ought to exercise more themselves as an example.

Of 2,000 asked, only one in 10 said they regularly do things together as a family during the winter months.

Fusion’s Chris Jones said: “Childhood inactivity is a problem. We’re developing more activities people of all ages can do together.”
