Axed game is homeless win
A FOOTBALL club left with 150 pies when a game was called off gave them to a homeless shelter.
Salford City FC’s clash with Tamworth was axed 90 minutes before kick-off due to a frozen pitch.
But the club was determined the food, including four huge tubs of soup and 40 cheesecakes, should not go to waste.
A spokesman said: “We wanted to share the good feeling that we have at the club and it’s great to be able to help people.”
