When you’re at the pub stay out of rounds and drink at your own pace – so you’re in charge of what you’re drinking.

It can be easy to reach for a drink without thinking about it at the end of a day – don’t stock up at home so you’re less likely to go for booze without thinking.

If you think red wine is good for your heart forget it. It’s been disproven.

Keeping one day as alcohol free can help you stick to 14 units or less a week – get your partner or friend to do it with you to help you stick at it.

Cut down on booze.
