Mamma Mia! is cancelled over flu bug
ABBA musical Mamma Mia! in London’s West End was cancelled last night after a flu bug spread through the cast and crew.
The virus wiped out so many lead performers and staff there were not enough people left to put on the show on Monday at London’s Novello theatre.
One source said: “The production will need a few people really to be super troupers and get off their sickbeds this week.
“Every night this show is cancelled costs promoters money, money, money.”
It is thought to be the first time the show, which first opened in 1999, has had to be stopped due to illness as normally the understudies fill in.
A spokesman apologised for any inconvenience.
