Police using gems clue to snare killers
DETECTIVES hunting killers who battered an OAP in his home hope jewellery they stole will trap them.
Arthur Gumbley, 87, was found in a pool of blood and died three weeks after the attack in November.
Officers have released pictures of gems taken from the ex-company director’s home in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids.
They include a 1540s Henry VIII Angel gold coin, a gold necklace and bracelet, and three silver and gold rings.
Police are hunting Tom Joseph Ward, 17, of Stokeon-Trent, and last week arrested a man of 28 in Castleford, West Yorks.
Det Insp Dan Ison said tracing the items may “help us track the men”.
Crimestoppers has offered a £10,000 reward.
