FANS: FIGHT’S GONE
ARSENAL fans have been weighed down by “a huge dose of apathy,” according to one of the biggest supporters’ groups.
The club could feel a backlash on Thursday as they face Manchester City again after their League Cup rout by Guardiola’s side, with fears over fans’ disaffection, staying away and fury at Arsene Wenger.
Lois Langton, chair of the Arsenal Independent Supporters’ Association, has called on the club’s board to change the manager this summer.
Langton said: “What we have among Arsenal fans is a huge dose of apathy. It’s as if the fight’s gone as supporters know it’s futile.
“What we witnessed was the culmination of years of arrogance and stubbornness.
“Nobody is denying what Wenger has achieved but that cannot be used as a self-serving justification to prevent change.”
