Vicar ‘unfair’ over cleaner
A CHURCH cleaner falsely accused of claiming for more hours than she had worked was unfairly treated, a tribunal ruled.
Maria Wright claimed unfair dismissal by the Rev Calvert Prentis at St John the Evangelist Church in Ilford, East London.
A judge accepted she was innocent and that “no reasonable effort” was made to deal with her grievance, but she could not win a payout as she was not a formal employee.
