Police spied ‘under order’
TWO police officers deny gross misconduct for spying on the sister of a war hero who died in custody as they acted on orders.
Christopher Alder, 37, was unlawfully killed in 1998. A Humberside Police surveillance team at the inquest monitored his sister Janet Alder, now 56.
A misconduct hearing was told they had nothing to do with Mr Adler’s death. And lawyers for both men said they were acting under instruction.
The hearing, at Goole, East Yorks, continues.
