‘Royals must blunt Blades’

JAAP STAM has warned his Reading strugglers they will have to put in the extra yards to topple Sheffield United.

The Royals are on a dismal run of only one win in their last 13 games and host a Blades side hunting a promotion play-off place.

Manager Stam said: “Sheffield United are a very good team and they have a lot of energy and quality.

“You can see in the way they play, for the first 20 minutes they give everything to make life difficult for the opposition. They have a lot of physique and ability, bringing energy into games.

“They’ll make it a tough game, but once again we need to go for that win.

“If you want to beat good teams, then you need to bring the same – or more. If you bring more, you need to use your ability and quality as well.”
