Vital to shout about cancer

-

Well done to Stephen Fry for speaking so openly and honestly about his prostate cancer.

For someone who in the past has had depression and battled to see much point in being alive, it was poignant to hear him say, “Here’s hoping I get another few years left on this planet because I enjoy life at the moment.”

One in eight men will get prostate cancer at some time. It now kills more people than breast cancer but has less screening, funding and research.

There was once a time when breast cancer was also forgotten.

If prostate cancer is to get the level of attention it needs then more people like Stephen Fry need to start making a noise about it.
