THE Royal Mint is celebrating our culture with a series of 10p coins featuring an A-to-Z of what makes Britain great.

The 26 designs, covering traditions and landmarks, will appear in change from this morning.

At the top of the alphabet, A is for Angel of the North, B is for James Bond and C is for cricket.

The designs were chosen after a survey asked the public what was typically British to them. The list includes queuing, a full English breakfast and the NHS.

The World Wide Web, invented by Brit Sir Tim Berners-Lee, also features.

An app will let collectors race to complete the alphabet.

Royal Mint chief Anne Jessopp said: “We feel these designs represent a diverse mix of elements that make up the country we all love.

“Whether it’s our Parliament, technological advancements such as [the] World Wide Web or just a good cup of tea, it’s all here.”
