THAT’S ADMIRABLE
Motorists could see insurance costs “fall substantially” if the Government goes ahead with a U-turn on payouts to crash victims, says the boss of Admiral. A ruling last year increased compensation awards to those suffering life-changing injuries. But ministers are reviewing the move, which would result in winners and losers. Boss David Stevens said: “We would expect premiums to fall substantially in the second half of the year.”
It came as the firm said profits jumped 45% to a record £403million in 2017.
More than 9,600 Admiral workers were handed a shares’ windfall worth £3,600 each.
