at Asda are paid on average 12.5% less than men. The supermarke­t blamed the gap on the disproport­ionate number of men in senior jobs and pointed out it was below the 17.4% national average. It comes as Asda is facing an equal pay claim brought by thousands of female store staff who are comparing their work with male employees in depots.
