Pell: Smart Alex can fix it
Lambert is third boss to tell Berahino he needs to shape up ‘CHEF’ SEAN CAN WAIT
SAIDO BERAHINO has been told to get fitter before he will be considered to play for Stoke City again.
SEAN DYCHE says he is happy to wait for a big job in management after comparing himself to the next top chef.
The Burnley boss (right) faces Everton tomorrow, having been overlooked by the Toffees in October.
He subsequently put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half-year contract at Turf Moor in January. But Dyche, 46, said: “Most of the top chefs started by peeling the spuds. Not many went straight in at the top, they know all the rungs of the ladder.
“I’ve done a version of that. I’m not quite finishing the plate and sending it out, I’m next in line.” MAURICIO PELLEGRINO says keeper Alex McCarthy can be Southampton’s trump card in the battle for Premier League survival.
Saints have lost only two of the eight games former Crystal Palace star McCarthy (right) has played in since replacing the error-prone Fraser Forster.
Manager Pellegrino, whose side face fellow strugglers Stoke tomorrow, said: “I think Alex is giving confidence to the team. In difficult situations, someone out of the side will get an opportunity and they can take it. “Nothing is fixed and Alex is one real example that sometimes you may be No.24, but you can become No.1.”
