Quorn Vegetarian Chicken & Mushroom Pie (235g), £2.70 VERSUS Pukka Chicken & Mushroom Pie (226g), £1.65 They looked virtually identical and both cooked to a lovely golden brown. While the pastry on the Quorn option tasted the best – perfectly crumbly, crispy and buttery – the filling was really disappoint­ing. We were surprised by the total lack of mushroom in the veggie option. It took us a while to spot one of the tiny pieces tucked among a mass of chewy, slightly dry Quorn. It would have been more edible with a decent sauce and a huge boost of mushrooms. The Pukka pie was tasty and we scoffed the lot – it was stuffed with big slices of very tasty mushrooms. DITCH
