‘VAR WAS A SHAMBLES , A DISGRACE’

DANNY ROSE has joined the chorus of dissenting voices over football’s video referee system.

The Tottenham and England defender described the use of VAR during Spurs’ FA Cup win over Rochdale this week as “a shambles” and “a disgrace”.

The FA Cup is trialling VAR ahead of its potential use in the Premier League next season, and Rose said: “It’s been the same in every round that it’s been used.”

Team-mate Lucas Moura said: “I think it was terrible.”

FIFA meet tomorrow to discuss the use of VAR at this summer’s World Cup and are expected to give it the go-ahead.
