Mussa copied the pilot by taking hold of the controls during the journey.
Video footage also shows the little ape looking out of the window as if admiring the view.
After being saved from poachers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mussa was flown to the Lwiro Primates sanctuary in the South Kivu province.
The pilot Anthony Caere said: “This looks cute but is a sad story. He should be with his mum. But [we’re] happy we could give him a good home.”
