My little miracle sisters...
Boy’s delight as mum has triplets after IVF
LITTLE Felix Woodridge gazes lovingly at his smiling triplet sisters, who were born after £60,000 worth of IVF treatment.
Rebecca Woodridge, 44, and husband David, 49, used up their savings in a 10-year battle with infertility but say it was “all worthwhile” to have their dream family. The couple first had four unsuccessful rounds of IVF, at £50,000, after Rebecca was told her egg count was low.
Felix, four, was conceived naturally after seven years of trying. They then spent another £10,000 on more IVF in the hope of having another. To their amazement, Rebecca fell pregnant with three children and welcomed Amelie, Maya-Albertine and Etta in 2016.
Rebecca, of Sutton Coldfield, West Mids, had to give birth at 29 weeks to save her life after a difficult pregnancy.
She said: “Despite the emotional rollercoaster, it has all been worthwhile as we now have our dream family. Our family is definitely complete now we have the girls and I hope we’re helping to show other couples having a family can happen, even in your 40s.”
Rebecca has launched a blog, Mummy to Triplets and Bro, to share her journey.
