Ruth Langsford insists on same pay as hubby when they work as TV duo
RUTH Langsford has told how she demands the same pay as husband Eamonn Holmes when they work as a duo.
Wading into the gender pay gap debate, she said: “I wouldn’t take a job if I wasn’t paid the same as Eamonn and he wouldn’t expect me to. It’s always been part of my deal that I was on the same money at This Morning. I think it depends on the job but if you’re doing exactly the same job, of course you should be paid the same.”
Ruth, 57, and Eamonn, 58, are back working together in new consumer series Do The Right Thing, which starts on Thursday on Channel Five.
Ruth explained: “This show is about real people and what affects their lives and we are going to do a lot of campaigns people will be shocked by. But we are also having a lot of fun and crazes and fads. Apparently there is a new craze for exercising naked.
“The theory is you focus more on the parts of the body that you feel need the most work if you are able to see it.
“So you are standing stark naked in your birthday suit with other people.
“I have been reporting from a class! I didn’t know where to look.”
