CARLOS’ SWANS ARE READY TO ROCK

-

CARLOS CARVALHAL wants his Swansea side to pump up the volume of their “rock and roll” style football as they continue to climb to safety in the Premier League. The Portuguese (left) described his side’s win over the Hammers as “the best since I’ve been here” and claimed his players had forced West Ham to dance to their tune. “It was rock and roll in the stadium,” said the man who drives to work listening to the Arctic Monkeys and Reverend and the Makers.

His latest victory made it 17 points from a possible 27 in nine Premier League games since he arrived – more than they took from 24 matches in the first half of the season. “It is completely different from when I took over for the Watford game. The team was making a lot of mistakes, but it has progressed a lot,” said Carvalhal.

“I don’t think we will play much better than we did today, although we can improve little things.”

Man-of-the-match Korean midfielder Ki Sung-yueng, who opened the scoring and whose Swans deal expires this summer, said: “There is a big possibility I could sign a new contract here.”
