MOEEN: I AM OVER ASHES BASHING

- FROM CHRIS STOCKS in Dunedin

MOEEN ALI says he has moved on from his Ashes nightmare after starring with the ball during England’s thrilling victory in the third ODI against New Zealand.

He took 3-36 – his best figures so far of a difficult winter – in a nerve-jangling four-run win.

“You have to try to move on and look forward because we play so much cricket,” said the all-rounder (above), who averaged 16.31 with the bat and 79.80 with the ball in Tests and ODIs against the Aussies. “You can’t afford to dwell on the Ashes.

“Ashes or no Ashes, it’s Test cricket and you try to give your best. That’s all you can do.”

England made just 234-8 in Wellington but clung on despite a brilliant 112 not out by Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson. England are 2-1 up and can seal the five-match series in Dunedin on Wednesday.
