Hill in skill fight
Harry Hill reckons his biggest rival on The Great British Celebrity Bake Off is fellow comic Roisin Conaty, saying: “She’s sweet and she’s got skill.”
Harry admits he’s far more likely to encounter a soggy bottom than a Paul Hollywood handshake, not least because he’s a novice. “I don’t bake at home – the first time I have was preparing for this. I am not a huge fan of cakes as I prefer savoury treats.”
The funnyman was inspired to take part in the Channel 4 charity special because it raises funds for Stand Up to Cancer. “I’m an ex-doctor and a human being, and you get to 53 and your friends start getting cancer and it becomes real.”
Martin Kemp, who was diagnosed with benign brain tumours in 1995, says he aims to impress Hollywood with his decorative skills, saying he’s better at “the art side than the flavour side”. Hmmm, good luck with that. Watch their spirits sinking along with their cakes tomorrow at 8pm.
