‘Drinker eye’ was tumour in my head
A TEENAGER blamed her wonky eyes on pre-party drinks – but the cause was a benign tumour crushing one eye socket.
The boyfriend of Megan Barker, 19, spotted the problem in a Facetime chat but she said: “I’d been drinking. Your eyes change when you drink.”
After her family noticed her drooping left eye she went to hospital where tests showed a mass.
Last month surgeons in Portsmouth sawed open her skull and peeled back her face to remove the bony tumour.
Megan, of Waterlooville, Hants, was allowed home after three days and said: “The NHS were incredible.”
She added: “It’s crazy when you think how it all started. Now it’s over I want to raise awareness.”
