M1 horror lorry driver guilty
A LORRY driver who caused an accident on the M1 that killed eight was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Ryszard Masierak, 31, was drunk when he stopped on the motorway last August.
Another lorry driver, David Wagstaff, was making a hands-free phone call when he hit a minibus and Masierak’s stationary lorry near Newport Pagnell, Bucks.
A jury at Reading crown court yesterday convicted Polish national Masierak.
It is still deliberating on eight counts of death by dangerous driving against Wagstaff, 54, of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs.
