Badgers face cull increase
THE Government is planning to widen the badger cull in opposition to calls to halt the bloodshed.
More than 19,000 were killed last year across eight English counties and there are plans to expand this year’s cull to eight more.
Dominic Dyer, of the Badger Trust said: “This is rapidly becoming a badger eradication programme.”
Shadow Environment Secretary Sue Hayman said the cull was “ineffective and unscientific” and the Government has “no indication of how many badgers are even infected”.
