Medics ignored family’s fears
A MAN of 70 battered two fellow hospital patients to death after his anti-psychotic drugs were stopped.
Harry Bosomworth attacked Ken Godward, 76, and Roger Lamb, 79, with his walking stick in 2015 at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds.
Bosomworth was a paranoid schizophrenic, and a report leaked to the Health Service Journal said his Olanzapine was stopped a month before despite his family’s warnings.
It is claimed medics focused on his cancer treatment ahead of his mental health. The two Leeds health trusts which commissioned the report have admitted failings and say they are working on improvements.
Mr Bosomworth was sectioned after the attack and died of cancer in July 2015.
