Mum guilty of tot poisoning

A MOTHER has been found guilty of force-feeding her baby potentially lethal amounts of salt.

The 18-month-old girl was rushed to hospital after being given between 21 and 24 grams of it.

Experts said it was a “miracle” she recovered.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was convicted of giving her salt to endanger her life or to inflict GBH.

Truro crown court heard she Googled the appropriate intake for a child.

The mother from the St Austell area of Cornwall, who cannot be named, will be sentenced next month.
