Girl killed at rail crossing

A GIRL of 15 was killed when she was hit by a train at a level crossing.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

British Transport Police said: “A 15-year-old girl has sadly died after she was struck by a train.

“Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”

Several rush-hour trains to Bristol through the resort were cancelled.
