£2.9m left by Labour’s Tam

FORMER firebrand Labour MP Tam Dalyell left £2.9million, figures show.

He died in January last year at 84 and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen, a son, daughter and four grandchild­ren.

Mr Dalyell became MP for West Lothian in 1962 then Linlithgow in 1983 and became the longestser­ving MP, with 43 years.

The Old Etonian baronet turned his back on his roots and became a socialist, motivated by Scottish unemployme­nt.
