Bill’s daughter Vanya, 50, died of ‘liver failure’
TRAGEDY Bill and Vanya BILL Roache’s eldest daughter Vanya died from liver failure, it emerged yesterday.
The 50-year-old passed away last week.
Bill, who plays Ken Barlow in Corrie, has been granted compassionate leave from the soap following the tragedy.
Vanya’s partner Toby Evans revealed the cause of death when speaking at their home in West Sussex. He said: “Vanya was a nice person, a lovely person. It was a liver failure that she died of. It happened very quickly.”
Vanya was Bill’s daughter from his marriage to first wife Anna Cropper.
The 85-year-old actor has been hit by similar tragedies in the past. His second wife Sara passed away in her sleep in 2009. And in 1984, the couple’s daughter Edwina died of pneumonia at 18 months. Bill said later: “I felt so guilty. It was an unbelievable shock.”
