ESURE BOSS IN THE PINK
The founder of insurance giant esure is to pocket a £12million windfall.
Chairman Sir Peter Wood’s fortune will be boosted by a 9.4p-a-share final dividend which is payable in late May.
It came as profits at esure, still 31% owned by the tycoon, leapt more than a third to nearly £99million last year.
The firm, which owns insurer Sheilas’ Wheels, cashed in on price rises and taking on more profitable customers, such as students.
Customer numbers rose 9.2% to 2.4million, with a rise in the number of motor policies offsetting a fall in home insurance.
