WEST BROM players are stunned boss Alan Pardew has not been sacked already with the club hurtling towards relegation.

Albion’s Premier League prospects have plunged since Tony Pulis was axed in November when they were a point above the drop zone.

Pardew has won just once in 15 top-flight games with the Baggies marooned at the bottom of the table, eight points away from safety following six successive defeats.

Several senior stars are understood to be amazed the club’s hierarchy have not made another change.

Some Albion players feel the Chinese-owned club is accepting relegation by keeping Pardew.

He faced the threat of the axe if Albion lost at Watford last weekend.

But club chiefs decided to stick with him after an improved display in the 1-0 defeat with sources citing a lack of credible alternatives as one of the reasons for keeping him.

Pardew argues the rot had set in before he arrived and points to injuries to Nacer Chadli, James Morrison and on-loan Daniel Sturridge.
