Ace Sanchez helps partner over murder

...but he ‘would have turned it down’

CORONATION Street star Kym Marsh left the cobbles for the red carpet as she hosted the Pride of Birmingham Awards.

Kym, 41, joined fellow celebs such as Olympic gold medal swimmer Rebecca Adlington, 29, to hail unsung heroes.

Robyn Birdsell, 11, who tackled a burglar at her home, was among the winners at Birmingham University last night.

All those honoured will go forward to the judging process for the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards, in partnershi­p with TSB, which are screened on ITV in the autumn.

Mayte Rodriguez had appealed for help to find Concepcion Arregui, 59, who vanished a month ago after supposedly taking a coach from Argentina to Chile.

But police yesterday began searching for her body after Concepcion’s 70-year-old husband Roberto Audano confessed to shooting her dead and burying her.

Chilean actress Mayte, 29, paid tribute on social media, referencin­g Internatio­nal Women’s Day.

She said: “A man is no longer a man when he mistreats a woman.

“With pain we say goodbye to you today.”
