Threes, please, Voice tells acts

The Voice will let trios audition when it returns to ITV for a third series in 2019.

Only single acts or duos have been allowed in the contest until now.

Creative director Katie Rawcliffe tells us: “We know there are many talented trios across the UK and we want to offer them the chance to show off their vocal harmonies on The Voice UK stage.”

The show began on BBC in 2012 but ITV acquired the rights for three series. Current coaches are Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.
