Netflix exclusive, Monday Natalie Portman treks through a jungle where evolution is out of control in this nightmarish and intense sci-fi adventure. Following The Cloverfield Paradox and Mute, Netflix hasn’t had the best form for original sci-fi. However, this more than makes up for those misfires.

It’s seductive, intriguing and thrillingly ambitious in its mix of action and ideas. Alex Garland wrote 2002’s zombie flick 28 Days Later and 2012’s comic-book adaptation Dredd, before going to make a staggeringly assured directorial debut with 2015’s Ex Machina.

My only reservation with it is I won’t be able to watch it on the big screen where it deserves to be seen.
