The BBC1 sitcom Hold the Sunset is brilliant. It’s great to see John Cleese, left, with Alison Steadman, back where he belongs – in a sitcom with quality scripts and entertaining the whole family. The programme is first rate, the cast is excellent and the writing is comedy gold. The BBC should recommission another series. Cameron Camilla Boyle, Leicester

I’ve watched the previous series of Benidorm on ITV, but I must say that this latest offering is rubbish. If it carries on the way it is, viewers will be switching off in their droves. There’s simply no fun in it now at all and the plots are so weak. Like the Solana Hotel, the show is in dire need of refurbishment. Tom Baxter, Denny, Stirlingshire
