Allergy drugs lower fertility
ANTIHISTAMINE use may be causing fertility problems in men.
The drugs are often taken to relieve symptoms of allergies like hay fever, hives and conjunctivitis.
But research on animals found they hit hormone production in the testicles, affecting sperm motility and cutting sperm counts.
Dr Carolina Mondillo, of the Instituto de Biologia y Medicina Experimental in Buenos Aires, said: “There is much to learn. More trials are needed.”
