Westminster stab PC gets Met honour
THE hero policeman who died defending Parliament from a terrorist has been honoured for his bravery.
PC Keith Palmer, 48, was stabbed to death when he confronted Khalid Masood at Westminster a year ago.
He won the Outstanding Bravery of the Year prize at this week’s Metropolitan Police Excellence Awards.
Home Secretary Amber Rudd said: “PC Keith Palmer gave his life to protect the public. I am deeply grateful for his commitment to protect our country and its people.”
The married father-ofone tackled Masood, 52, who had mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, killing four.
Masood, armed with two knives, was shot dead by a minister’s bodyguard.
