MEL B is “a drug addict and alcoholic” who could become “another Michael Jackson”, her ex claims.
In a battle over access to stepdaughter Angel, Stephen Belafonte says Scary Spice lied about domestic violence to turn the child against him.
He also accuses the singer of covering up her addictions by claiming he was responsible for her injuries.
Mel, 42, is fighting attempts by the producer to get visiting rights to Angel, her daughter with actor Eddie Murphy.
He says he raised the 10-year-old as his own and she calls him “Daddy”.
His latest claims come after mum-of-three Mel accused him of forcing her children to watch Islamic State beheading videos.
In new papers submitted to a Los Angeles court, Belafonte, 42, alleges Mel is “a drug addict and alcoholic who would get so wasted she would walk into walls in the middle of the day and has been hospitalised for overdoses”.
He claims he texted her therapist, asking him to stop medicating her and warning she could become “another Michael Jackson”.
Jackson died from an overdose in 2009. The new papers also allege a 2014 incident in London, in which Mel wound up in hospital and had to pull out of judging X Factor, was because she overdosed. She says it was because Belafonte beat her, causing her to take too many aspirin. Mel previously accused her ex of forcing her into threesomes but he says she was a willing participant. The couple, wed in 2007 and divorced in December last year, have a daughter. Mel also has a daughter with ex-husband Jimmy Guzlar.
