HOWE: WE CAN DO AN ITALIAN JOB ON THEM
EDDIE HOWE will try to copy Juventus to heap more misery on Tottenham.
The Bournemouth boss watched in awe as the Italians produced a defensive masterclass to dump Spurs out of the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men travel to the Vitality Stadium tomorrow and Howe said: “For me, the most fascinating aspect of Wednesday’s match was the last 20 minutes.
“How the Italians were going to defend their lead and how Tottenham were going to try to score.
“The Juventus mindset was very good and it’s something that has been instilled in them over a number of years.
“From a coaching perspective, it was fascinating to see, review and analyse.
“It is difficult to deliver that kind of performance, but we will have a go.”
Cherries striker Jermain Defoe will be looking to put the boot into his old club and Howe believes the veteran England international could be a key weapon – even if he starts on the bench.
Howe added: “He is the highest scoring substitute in the Premier League, so he has that knack of coming on and changing games.”
