Toys R Us: 1st shops to shut

TOYS R Us is set to begin closing British stores as early as next week.

Hopes are fading that a buyer can be found for the stricken 100-branch chain.

Store closures would trigger job losses among the 3,000 strong workforce.

Insolvency firm Moorfields Advisory has earmarked 26 loss-making stores to be the first to be axed, it is believed.

Moorfields said it was making “every effort” to secure a buyer. But reports say this is unlikely in a dire time for the high street.
