JAKE WRIGHT refuses to accept that Sheffield United’s promotion challenge disintegrated with defeat at Fulham.

The Blades lost 3-0 at Craven Cottage in midweek, but Wright insists it has not ended their belief they can leap from League One to Premier League in successive seasons.

United are only three points adrift of sixthplaced Middlesbrough before they play Ipswich today. They also have a game in hand on Boro and Wright (left) is confident they can make that count in the run-in.

He said: ”I expect us to win the games we need to take us into the play-offs. We’ve proved we can go anywhere and take points.”
