JAVI UNFAZED BY TROY SPAT

JAVI GRACIA brushed off Arsene Wenger’s threat to answer Troy Deeney’s “cojones” barb on the pitch and shrugged: “It doesn’t put any pressure on me.”

The Watford captain’s brutal post-match analysis, following the Hornets’ 2-1 win against the Gunners in October, made him enemies in north London.

But the comment from Deeney (above left) may have touched a raw nerve: Arsenal are heading for their worst Premier League finish in 22 years. And Gunners boss Wenger said this week: “What we can do is respond on the field with the quality of our performance, and that’s what we want to focus on, not what people say.”

Hornets head coach Gracia (above right) said: “I don’t know what Troy was trying to say because I was not here then. Maybe he was talking about being competitive and trying to explain you need to play at a high level in every game.

“Does it put any more pressure on Watford? Not on me – I don’t think about it. I try to explain as well as possible the respect we feel for other clubs, and, for me, Wenger deserves more respect than he receives.”
