In heart-stopping scenes screened last week, we watched as schoolboy Adam finally managed to escape from the killer’s prison.
As he ran, bloodied and terrified across a field, this crime thriller felt almost like a horror movie. Then Adam flagged down a car and climbed inside – but whose car is it? Will he be taken to safety or is he back in danger? We can hardly cope with the tension. Meanwhile, paedophile Phil Dawkins was seen eyeing Marcella’s son Edward at the school gates. Now, driven to exact his revenge on Marcella (Anna Friel) after his partner miscarried, he puts a plan into action.
While Edward is in danger, Marcella is heading to another hypnosis session, which reveals something shocking about Jason.
And Gail persists in communicating with Joel, but the stress causes him to suffer an epileptic fit, putting their progress in jeopardy.
Suffice to say, this drama becomes more disturbing, yet more gripping, every week.
