KANE INJURY SPARKS ALERT

FROM BACK PAGE three games after suffering a recurrence almost a year ago to the day, in last year’s FA Cup quarter-final against Millwall.

Gareth Southgate names his England squad for the upcoming friendlies against Holland and Italy on Thursday and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says he will hold off speaking to the Three Lions boss before he knows more about the extent of Kane’s injury.

He said: “We need to wait until tomorrow because we will scan his ankle. He suffered an injury that is to the same ankle he suffered before. I hope, we hope, it is not a massive issue but we need to wait until tomorrow.”

Kane tried to walk the injury off before admitting defeat and heading down the tunnel after throwing a water bottle to the floor in frustration.

Pochettino added: “The decision was between him and the doctor, but he felt like when he landed and twisted his ankle that it was impossible to stay on the pitch.”
