Local firms are in crisis

MANY businesses around the gutted tower are struggling to survive.

Some firms have seen trade fall by 75%, with several failing. Many members of staff have quit and fewer customers visit the area.

Forty-five firms are getting support from the local Portobello Business Centre. Its chief executive Allen Pluck said that the community ”remains in a state of trauma”.
