Single parent poverty rises
THE proportion of working single parents in poverty has soared from 19% to 32% since 2010.
For couples the rate rose 3% to 18%, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation said.
Incomes of the worst off rose £4 a week but higher costs and cuts made a couple with two children £600 a year poorer, it said.
The Foundation added: “In-work poverty is the problem of our times.”
