We’ll be paying Brussels for 45 years
THE UK will fund pensions of Brussels’ officials until 2064.
The payments were revealed as the Office for Budget Responsibility said the UK’s bill for leaving the EU would be £37.1billion. Anti-Brexit Labour MP Chuka Umunna, said: “We’ll be paying until 2064. There won’t be an extra penny for our health service.”
Chancellor Philip Hammond said of the pension payments: “These are really quite small sums, but the alternative would have been to have the EU send us a bill for them up front.”
EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker told UKIP MEPs yesterday that Britain “will regret” leaving the EU.
