Gervais: It’s end of Brent career on TV
RICKY Gervais said David Brent will not appear again in a TV series or film.
But he said the deluded boss of hit sitcom The Office may appear in a one-off concert.
He said: “What I might do, just to put it all to bed, is record one of the concerts where David Brent plays live.”
Brent was last seen in a 2016 mockumentary as a wannabe rock star.
Gervais, 56, told ITV’s Lorraine he could not see himself doing a series or film about him.
But he added: “I like Brent. He falls over but gets up and I admire that.”
Gervais also defended his jibes at celebrities as he hosted the Golden Globes in the US as “teasing the richest, most beautiful people in the world”.
