Cash scams target oldies

NEARLY one in five over-60s believe they have been approached more than 10 times by financial scammers in the past year.

The average lost by victims was £401.

Santander, which polled 1,000 people, plans free classes to help spot scams.

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman, 73, who is helping the campaign, said: “The scam avoidance school was a real eye-opener. I want to pass on this knowledge.”
